This mini album is Norwegian Black Metal outfit Eikind's first official release. Eikind started out as a soloproject by the former Khold bassist, and current Winds vocalist with the same name, but has now become a fullfledged band. The music is mid-paced to fast, and musically this does sound similar to Khold, but a bit faster and with some twists of its own. The focus is not as much on the bass, as in Khold, but the drums are what you hear most in the mix.
The soundquality is quite good, and the material presented here is strong. The vocals are also quite good, being somewhat echoed and almost spoken, slightly in the back of the mix, and with an almost desperate sound to them.
This is a good teaser for the upcoming album.
Standout tracks, of the three presented here are "Vargtime" and "Darkness Supreme". Released by Vicious Recordings, what rose out of the ashes of Selbstmord Services.
